Асфоделина жёлтая – Asphodeline lutea (L.) Reichb. = Asphodelus luteus L.
Растёт на скалах и каменистых склонах гор, поднимаясь до 1000 м над уровнем моря, на опушках лесов, в кустарниках.
Растение до 80 см высотой. Цветки жёлтые, до 3-4 см в диаметре, собраны в густую кисть; доли околоцветника узколанцетные. Стебель облиственный. Листья шиловидные длиной до 10-15 см и шириной до 0,8 см, по краю коротко-опушённые. Цветение поздней весной. В культуре выращивается давно. Морозостойко. Хорошо растёт на любой почве на открытых солнечных местах. Необходим хороший полив.
Размножение семенами и делением корневищ весной или осенью.
Месторасположение: хорошо растёт на среднеудобренных, хорошо дренированных песчаных и суглинистых почвах при ярком солнечном освещении.
Уход: при выращивании в суровом климате необходимо укрывать на зиму.
Вредители и болезни: слизни, улитки, тли.
Размножение: семена высеваются в контейнеры на холодном подоконнике весной. Деление взрослых растений в конце лета – начале осени. Разделить толстые корневища на куски с 2-3 точками возобновления роста.
Использование: для бордюров и каменистых горок.

Germination: These seeds germinate rapidly depending on species and origin. If germination does not occur after 3-4 weeks a cooling period of 2-4 weeks is recommended.

Vernalization: There is no current research on vernalization but a prudent recommendation for any perennial would be 6-12 weeks (a few might need 15 weeks!) at an average daily temperature of (5°C). Exposure to cold may not be necessary for flowering but might improve quality.
Forcing: An obvious place to experiment - following vernalization - would be raising daytime temperatures to 15° - 17°C. Provide 16 hours of continuous lighting. During the short days of winter, provide a night interruption lighting of 4 hours between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.
